Frequently asked questions

Which format should I choose?
Shops in most countries scan EAN-13. Shops in the United States and Canada use UPC-A. For warehouse, asset or shipping labels, Code 128 is compact and accepts letters.
Can I sell products with a barcode made here?
The tool draws the bars for a number you already have. To sell in retail, the number itself must be issued to your company by GS1.
What is a check digit?
It is the last digit of an EAN or UPC code, calculated from the others so scanners can detect misreads. Enter the code without it and the tool adds it.
How large should I print the barcode?
Keep an EAN-13 at about 37 mm wide and leave blank space on both sides. Print a test and scan it before a full run.
